Co-authored a four-part series on gaps in Connecticut’s elder care system that won two national awards and prompted sweeping reforms. Led an investigation, spanning more than a year, into the troubled long-term care insurance industry, whose financial practices harm tens of thousands of Connecticut consumers. Reported extensively on lapses in nursing home care. Co-authored an investigation on the aftermath of a cyberattack across three local hospitals. Wrote an exposé of religious health ministries that helped erase $300,000 of medical debt for a resident featured in the story. Also served as health care reporter (2019 to 2023).

Covered government in the capital city with a focus on corruption and theft of taxpayer funds. Co-wrote two investigations on corruption in city deals that spurred federal indictments, one on the theft of taxpayer funds in a major soccer stadium project and another on an insurance broker who embezzled nearly $1 million from the city. Exposed no-bid agreements for city development, analyzed years of lofty payouts to Hartford employees for compounded unused sick and vacation time – the result of lax policies – leading to reforms, and highlighted systems that allowed for sweetheart deals in city pensions and retiree health benefits.
